Sorry for not uploading for so long... been really~~ busy with school, here's a bunch of cute chibis to make up for that. ~~I know chibis are cop out~ i'll upload more normal pics soon :3~~

If you listen to Jpop, watch anime, read manga, watch dramas....well...you probably seen them because they're top of the chart in japan, Getting their own anime in spring with big name producers and production team, have their own manga AKB49, and have 2 dramas like Majisuka Gakuen (with girls playing delinquents) and Sakura Kara no Tegami (drama about girl problems, from fitting in, to cutting, and abortion) With an even fanbase of 1:1 male and female, they're pretty much everywhere in japan right now

Currently they have 24th single and over 300 songs ranging from cute love songs to suicide, loneliness, society problems, even songs about sex. (after all~ most are over 18 yrs old, it's natural for people to think about sex by this time) Also as of 201, they have 4 consecutive singles that sold 1 million in a week/day

Why are there so many members?!!!!

Because AKB48 perform everyday at night, while at the same time film shows, CM, promotion for single, sub units, record song, learn over 300 songs and choreo, have handshake event every single with over 30,000 people in one day, and attend highschool/universities, it's hard to do all that work without being a giant army. With the top 21 girls voted by fans to promote mainstream on shows, the rest of the girls perform in theater, and switch nights so they're not overwhelmed with the schedule. and no you don't have to remember all of them, though if you watched their shows like AKBINGO like me, you end up remembering girls cuz they're just that funny.

Why should I care about them?

Well first off, they have a lot of songs, ranging from fun to serious ones. From bubble gum pop to beautiful ballads and rock, gothic songs.

They're very hardworker. They started out being an indie group with no one care about them. Their first stage only had 7 people in a 165 seat theater. They passed out flyers on the street themselves instead of being put on billboards or shows like other artists and yet now, selling over 1 million in just days. A true underdog story.

They have done alot of things to help out Japan during the disaster, donated $15 million USD, raised $25 million USD all toward Japan relief, Not only that, their new single Kaze wa fuiteiru is dedicate to the tsunami victims with lyric showing support, the girls are even wearing funeral headband in the video.

Well technically it's not "controversial". Only people outside of japan reacted badly to this PV which is consider kawaii by japanese GIRLS.

Here's the explanation before hand! READ!In japan, japanese girls have a much more close relationship, they hug, kiss without it being slutty or lesbian. In a TV survey, Hebirote topped the ranking, and girls said that they can relate to AKB girls in the video and they thought it was "super Kawaii~~~" Japan have different culture and girls are more closer to each others, they even take bath as friends. So keep an open mind~ about the different culture and plz don't call them sluts...lol

I saw Sakura after Chobits but Sakura came first. I freaked out when I saw Tsubasa Chronicles and XXXholic. They were all grown up!!!

I didn't follow tsubasa as much because I have no idea what's about...like the story got so confusing...@_@
